Alworths Retail Stores
Alworths Limited launched in Autumn 2009, as a new general merchandise retailer. It successfully opened 5 stores in late 2009, and a further 14 in 2010, all acquired by Downs Leat Marshall.
Founder and Managing Director Andy Latham chose Downs Leat Marshall to help his team evaluate potential sites, inspect the properties and negotiate acquisition terms on behalf of the company. Alworths was keen to capitalise on the gap left in the High Street after the demise of the much-loved Woolworths chain and was determined to get stores open quickly and efficiently.
